Charlotte, N.C. (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats are paying big money to keep top rebounder and shot blocker Emeka Okafor.

Okafor, a member of UConn's 2004 NCAA title team, was the Bobcats' first pick in the 2004 draft.

The Bobcats have come to terms with the restricted free agent on a six-year, 72 million dollars deal, ending a month of negotiations.

Okafor averaged 13.7 points and 10.7 rebounds a game last season.
