New Haven, Conn. (July 1, 2008) -- WTNH News Channel 8 and WCTX MyTV9 will debut a new weekly half-hour show this fall that chronicles the University of Connecticut football team. 'Inside Huskies Football' will air on MyTV9, Connecticut's Sports Zone, each Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The show will debut on Thursday, Sept. 4th, a week after UConn's season opener against Hofstra. Sports Team 8's Noah Finz, John Pierson and Marc Robbins will contribute to the series. 'We look forward to producing and airing 'Inside Huskies Football',' says WTNH/WCTX VP, General Manager Jon Hitchcock. 'IHF will deliver a high-quality and a fast-paced half hour look at the UConn program each week. Just as head coach Randy Edsall has built a terrific program, we look forward to sharing that continued success in an entertaining and exciting way.' The show will feature a review and preview of Husky games, but will also have feature stories on the many facets of running a Division I football program, including many behind-the-scenes looks that fans don't normally see. 'Inside Huskies Football' will be the second local sports show produced by WTNH News Channel 8 and WCTX MyTV9. This will be the second season of production for 'Huskies All Access', the Emmy Award winning, monthly magazine show, highlighting University of Connecticut athletics.
