Storrs (WTNH) _ The head coach of the UConn women's basketball team, Geno Auriemma, has inked a deal for a 5 year contract extension.

With the new contract he is scheduled to make about $1.4 million this year. The numbers will increase each year by $100,000 topping out at $1.8 million.

The deal is set to become official next Tuesday and by the time the contract is done it will make him the highest paid women's basketball coach ever. Even more than his rival Pat Summitt at Tennessee.
