Cincinnati-UConn game rescheduled for 6PM Sunday

Hartford (AP) _ No. 13 Connecticut's game Saturday against Cincinnati has been moved to Sunday evening because a winter storm in the Midwest has left the Bearcats stuck in Ohio. "Cincinnati is not able to get out (of Ohio) today," Kyle Muncy, a UConn spokesman said Saturday. Game time Sunday is 6 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, but the Bearcats were delayed by the snow. Cincinnati had hoped to leave for Connecticut by 2 p.m. Saturday and play an evening game in Storrs. As much as 10 inches of snow fell in Ohio overnight, virtually shutting down road and air travel. The same storm system grounded the West Virginia women's team, forcing the Mountaineers to miss the annual Big East conference awards banquet in Hartford on Friday night.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Tuesday, January 06, 2009) - The No. 2 University of Connecticut men’s basketball team prevailed to a 61-55 victory at No. 22 West Virginia at the WVU Coliseum on Tuesday night. Jeff Adrien (Brookline, Mass.) led all scores with 17 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Stanley Robinson had a game-high 15 boards, helping the Huskies out-rebounded the Mountaineers 52-33. Robinson contributed seven points and four assists in the game.
