Hartford (AP) _ Jeff Adrien had 16 points and 15 rebounds as the University of Connecticut routed Florida A&M 93-54 at the Hartford Civic Center.
The Huskies put the game out of reach early after scoring the first 15 points. UConn went on to lead by as many as 42 points in the second half in what was its final tuneup before Saturday's meeting with 14th-ranked Gonzaga in Boston. Adrien had his third double-double of the season for the 5-1 Huskies. Hasheem Thabeet just missed a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks, while Stanley Robinson added 16 points for UConn. The Huskies' Jerome Dyson chipped in 15 points and a career-high nine assists. Jermonte Bush led 2-4 Florida A&M with 18 points. The Rattlers didn't get on the board for the first eight minutes, and when they did UConn responded with a 7-0 run to make it 22-2. |
