ST. THOMAS, U.S.V.I. (Friday, November 21, 2008) - Senior Jeff Adrien scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while freshman Kemba Walker (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 23 points off the bench to lead the No. 2 nationally-ranked University of Connecticut men’s basketball team to a 89-81 victory over La Salle University Friday in the opening round of the 2008 Paradise Jam at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
UConn was tested Friday night, even occassionally made to look inferior by a La Salle team that rotates one fluid athlete after another.
PITTSBURGH (Friday, November 21, 2008) - The third and final set of the University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team’s semifinal loss to No. 5 Notre Dame was the closest. No. 4 UConn lost 3-0 to the Fighting Irish at Fitzgerald Field House on the campus of host University of Pittsburgh on Friday.
Kalana Greene doesn't remember much about the last time UConn played San Diego State. But she had a convenient excuse.
Geno Auriemma would rather production flow seamlessly from starters to reserves so the designation becomes irrelevant and that's what he got Thursday. His players gave him a rousing 99-55 victory before 10,313 at the XL Center
With Jerome Dyson and Craig Austrie staying behind to attend a class and arriving Thursday night, UConn scrambled to prepare for its Paradise Jam opener tonight against La Salle.
