Men's Track & Field: Men's Track and Field to Compete in IC4A Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. (Thursday, May 15, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's track and field team travels to Princeton, N.J. May 16-18 to compete in the 132nd annual IC4A Championship meet. The meet will feature 82 schools from all three NCAA divisions that are members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The meet gets under way Friday at 1:00 p.m. with the decathlon.

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – For the second straight year, a BIG EAST men's soccer player has been named the winner of the Missouri Athletic Club (M.A.C.) Hermann Trophy, as Connecticut junior O'Brian White won the most prestigious individual award in intercollegiate soccer, announced on Jan. 11. Three of those picks, Louisville senior Joanna Haig, Notre Dame senior Ashley Jones and West Virginia senior Ashley Banks were first team selections. STORRS, Conn. – Connecticut captured the 2007 BIG EAST men's soccer championship title with a 2-0 win over Notre Dame. The game was held at Morrone Stadium on the campus of the University of Connecticut on Nov. 18. The Huskies, the top seed out of the BIG EAST Blue Division, earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. -

Five BIG EAST women's soccer teams have been selected for the 2007 NCAA Championship. Two teams, including the league's championship winner West Virginia, will host First and Second round matches on Nov. 16 and 18. Notre Dame also will host First and Second round matches, while Connecticut, Georgetown and Louisville will hit the road to begin their NCAA Championship quest.
